My wife and I are in our 47th year living in the Treasure Valley. We have lived in our present home for more than 35 years. Although our address is within the City of Eagle, we have never- received our domestic water from the Eagle Water Company. As we recall, United, then Suez, and now Veolia have supplied this water to us. • Please ask Veolia to provide a detailed spreadsheet describing the costs it has incurred and will incur to support its application for $74 million. • Please increase the investment recovery phase-in to 4 years and equalized for each year. Comparison of water rates with other utilities is not a valid comparison when used to justify a utility's rate increase. We are thankful for reliable water service, and we expect to pay for it. As with all utility companies, we are captive customers. We trust that your decision will be fair to us and to Veolia. We understand that a privately owned company, whether it be domestic or foreign, must consider the return on investment for its shareholders when setting its rates. We would like-to be assured the rate increase is truly needed during this inflationary period. Thank you.
