SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF CAPITOL WATER CORPORATION'S
APPLICATION TO CHANGE ITS SCHEDULE NO. 3 PURCHASED
POWER COST ADJUSTMENT RATE; CASE NO. CAP-W-24-02.
On December 30, 2024, the Commission issued Order No. 36437 authorizing Capitol
Water Corporation("Company") to update its Purchased Power Cost Adjustment rate to 3.33%to
allow the Company to recover its 2023 electricity costs that exceeded the amount embedded in the
Company's base rates that year. The Commission ordered the Company to file updated tariffs
within 15 days of the service date of Order No. 36437.
On January 10,2025,the Company filed an updated Schedule No. 3—Other Recurring and
Non-recurring Charges ("Schedule No. 3")reflecting the authorized PPCA rate approved in Order
No. 36437.
STAFF REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION
Staff reviewed the updated Schedule No. 3 and confirmed that it accurately represents the
rates approved by the Commission. Staff recommends that the Commission approve Schedule No.
3, as filed, effective January 1, 2025.
COMMISSION DECISION
Does the Commission wish to approve the Company's Schedule No. 3 reflecting a 3.33%
PPCA rate, effective as of January 1, 2025?
