Comment: "I am writing to ask that Veolia's request to increase rates for water usage be denied. Besides
the current rate already being a strain on my family's budget, I do not trust Veolia's accounting of water
usage. My family no longer uses tap water for drinking or cooking because it has such a strong chemical
flavor and gives us sore throats after consuming; instead, we purchase RO filtered water from a local
health food store. Additionally, we take very short showers, only wash laundry about once a week, and
have eliminated a large part of our lawn (both front and back yards) by putting in patio surfaces, raised
veggie beds, and decorative islands that require very little watering. We are using LESS water than
previous years,yet every statement we receive from Veolia says that our water usage is increasing. It
doesn't make sense. Please do not allow Veolia to increase our water rates until they at least provide a
higher-quality product AND a way for customers to track their own water usage, as there is currently no
way to successfully challenge them and provide proof against the amount of water they claim we're
using. Thank you."
