I am retired and this year my Social Security benefit will be increased by 2.5%. Even when I was working
I cannot remember receiving a 20% increase in my paycheck. I am completely opposed to Veolia's
proposed increase. They should have to live with a 2% rate increase and perhaps charge larger impact
fees. With basic inflation eating at my 2.5% increase,their proposal is outrageous)l Thank you for your

Comment: "Utilities shouldn't be controlled by private entities and this is a classic case as to why.Veolia
is beholden to their shareholders.They have to increase profits for their shareholders. Period.And they'll
justify whatever they have to to increase profits for them.
As of January 2025 Veolia has a market cap of$20.41 Billion USD.This makes Veolia the world's 937th
most valuable company by market cap according to our data.
According to Veolia's latest financial reports the company's current earnings are$46.84 Billion USD. In
2001 the company made an earning of$2.38 Billion USD.The earnings displayed on this page is the
company's Pretax Income.
This rate increase is nothing more then filling their coffers with more money. We've already seen rate
increases since they bought this utility from SUEZ. But it's not enough and it never will be.

If we don't stop this now, they'll keep increasing it until none of us can afford water.
Moreover, I urge the state of Idaho to take this utility back from Veolia and make it state run. That's the
only way we can guarantee we won't be price gouged to death.
