This proposed rate increase is way out of line with other water providers in the area. We do
not use very much water and the water is turned off much of the time when we are not there.
Proposing a rate increase if this magnitude should require a better explanation.
There was an attachment Exhibit 1-4.xls document but that has been removed. I would like to
see an audited budget and expenses so I can make sense of the radical price increase. Aspen
Creek water was able to remain profitable at the current rate. What has changed so drastically
making Aspen Creek the highest cost water provider compared to all neighboring
communities?
I have heard that there are some new lots that are being developed by the owner of Aspen
Creek. This new development of lots may be the reason for the required improvements of the
water infrastructure. The burden of the costs to add new lots serviced by the water company
should not fall on the shoulders of the current property owners. It seems that the new
drastically increased connection fees are designed to cover additional expenses. Any extra
infrastructure costs should fall on the developer of the new lots.
Please deny this exorbitant rate increase with the demand for more transparency to users of the
dynamics of new costs involved.
We were also provided the notice dated October 9, 2024 which was after the deadline of
October 4, 2024 where we could become a party to the case and participate in intervention.
