BOISE (Dec. 4, 2024)—The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is accepting written comments until mid-December on the requested cancellation of the Island Park Water Company's certificate of public convenience and necessity. The commission was informed by a law firm that the water utility had been judicially dissolved under the direction of a receiver, Big Springs Water Company, LLC. To conclude outstanding matters related to the water utility, the firm asked the commission to cancel the utility's certificate of public convenience and necessity. The law firm said Island Park Water's assets had been transferred to Caldera Water Company, Inc. Caldera Water is a non-profit corporation in Idaho that will operate and maintain the seven water systems formerly owned and operated by Island Park Water. Written comments are being accepted until Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024. Comments are required to be filed through the commission's website or by e-mail unless computer access is not available. To submit comments through the website,please visit puc.idaho.gov and click on the "Case Comment Form" link on the upper left side of the page. Please use case number ISL-W-24-01 when filling out the form. Comments submitted using e-mail are required to be sent to the commission secretary and Caldera Water at the e-mail addresses listed below.
