We are billed every 2 months, meaning My bill will rise$13.54. Add the customer charge, $24.58,without using any water my bill will be $38.12. 1 am going to use water so it will be more. I conserve, and have reduced my water consumption during summer greatly. Winter months I use less than 2CCF. Veolia offers ZERO incentives to conserve. Rate increases should be tied to consumption, not across the board, as this seems to be. Veolia pays nothing for their product, only the electrical costs to pump it out of the ground. I am on Social Security and once again, my COLA will be nullified by rate increases. Happens every year. I am asking this increase to at least be more incremental, tied to consumption, and those who received the $74 million in upgrades should pay more than me. No upgrades were done in my neck of the woods. I appreciate your time. Thank you..." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name:Jason Smith Submission Time: Nov 26 2024 10:56AM Email: jasonsmithboise@gmail.com Telephone: 208-891-7291 Address: 1028 E McKinley Boise, ID 83712 Name of Utility Company:Veolia Case ID: VEO-W-24-01 Comment: "Please consider denying this request for an increase in rates. Last year the first half net income of Veolia increased 10%...this company is more than successful enough to fund it's own improvements without passing along the cost to the already strapped consumer. Water is an essential right and should not be subject to the whims of a company that is based in another country." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 -----Original Message----- From: PUCWeb Notification Sent:Tuesday, November 26, 2024 10:00 AM To: ConsumerComplaintsWeb Subject: Notice: A complaint was submitted to PUCWeb The following complaint was submitted via PUCWeb: Name:Justin Fowler Submission Time: Nov 26 2024 9:08AM Email: deep.midnight@protonmaii.com Telephone: 208-991-3438 Address: 7522 W. Ever since this new company took over the water, the pressure has been very low and the water itself is of poor quality. It reeks of industrial bleach, it has become highly mineralized, and we believe we have caught the company lying to get more federal money for lead pipe removal. We confirmed with them that the feeder line is copper, and we sent them photos of it at their request in their website. A few months later we got a post card from them listing the pipes as unknown . We are aware of the federal grants in place to remove lead pipes. As for the poor water quality, their extremely mineralized water will eventually destroy our copper house and feeder pipes. It leaves a weekly crust in the toilet that we must scrub and yet it rarely comes all the way off. God forbid any of their subpar water hits the house windows. It's awful the amount of acid we now have to use removing their product from these types of surfaces. Additionally, their water stinks, and has lots of brown stuff in it now. Any place that this company has ever been, they have been run out on a rail because they destroy the product and jack up the cost. We urge you to not only say no to their increases, but also to consider saying no to them. Get this company out of here!" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----Original Message----- From: PUCWeb Notification Sent:Tuesday, November 26, 2024 11:00 AM To: ConsumerComplaintsWeb Subject: Notice: A complaint was submitted to PUCWeb 2 The following complaint was submitted via PUCWeb: Name:Joni Curry Submission Time: Nov 26 2024 10:22AM Email: hiecurry@hotmail.com Telephone: 208-914-1741 Address: 2725 S Meadowbrook Dr Boise, ID 83705 Name of Utility Company:Veolia VEO-W-24-01 Contacted Utility: No Comment: "I do not think they deserve a 20% rate increase. People find it hard enough to pay their bills and to add an additional 20% is going to cause them undue strsss and worry. Utilities do not need to gauge people and are making a sufficient profit. Read Elizabeth Warren's books about how companies should work within the country and economy." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Kelsey Gooden Submission Time: Nov 26 2024 12:19PM Email: siacobsid@yahoo.com Telephone: 208-440-7959 Address: 1704 S Shoshone Boise, ID 83705 Name of Utility Company:Veolia Case ID: VEO-W-24-01 Comment: "Regarding the request for a rate increase, our water bills are already so high we cannot afford them. Please deny this request. If I water lawn, which I cannot afford, bill is several hundred dollars already. Please consider the consumers.Thank you" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3
