Inspection Summary
Audit consisted of inspecting field installed operating equipment and operator training for the Avista
Sandpoint, Idaho inspection unit. Records and procedures for all Idaho Avista units were inspected March
16-17,2021 virtually from our office in Boise,Idaho.
July 26,2021: (2 Standard travel)
Traveled to Sandpoint, ID to conduct inspection.
July 27,2021: (1.5 Standard, .5 OQ)
Met with Avista company representatives in the Sandpoint, Idaho district office for in-brief and began field audit
of Sandpoint installed equipment.
Regulator Stations 200, 201, 208, 209A and 209B were inspected for relief operation, regulator lock-up and
general condition of the station including pipe-to-soil wrap and corrosion. Two cathodic rectifiers, nine
emergency valves, one patrol and one carrier-to-casing were inspected for the Sandpoint district. Observation:
No deficiencies noted during inspection. IPUC Form 3 was conducted with Randy Bareither, Jim Kane,Jeff Lee,
Steve Finney and Shawn Slinkard.
July 28,2021: (1.5 Construction, .5 OQ)
Observed an Avista crew replace an Aldyla main along 607 E 17th Ave in Post Falls, Idaho. Areas observed
were excavation,pipe handling/placement,tracer wire installation, welding, service tie-ins, EFV installation,
pressure testing,padding, and backfill.
July 29,2021: (2 Standard travel)
Traveled back to Boise, ID. Wrote the inspection report, completed audit forms.
