Inspection Summary
A construction inspection was performed on Das-co, a contractor for Intermountain Gas Company.
15-18 August 22 (4.0) construction, typed reports
IPUC inspector observed a Das-co crew installing met fits on 2ea 2" service lines. Crew tied the
2" service lines into 4" PE utilizing electrofusion 4"X2" saddle tees and connecting tracer wires.
Observed crew installing cad welds on 6" steel lines for test posts and included coating and
wrapping line. Das-co welders installed 6" steel to 4" PE transition tees, installed completion
plugs, save-a-valves, performed line packs using nitrogen, pressure testing, blowdowns by
installing vent stacks, cut/abandoned old 4" steel lines by purging and welded on caps/plugs. Cut
and abandoned old high-pressure 2" lines by purging and filling lines with expandable foam.
IGC crew performed line tapping on 2ea 6" lines. A different crew was bedding, backfilling, and
cleaning up roadway. All procedures were followed.
