Inspection Summary
A construction inspecton was performed on Das-co, a contractor for Intermountain Gas Company
18 Jan 2022 (1.0)construction)
Observed a Das-co crews installing 3/4" service line at 1267 W Chinden Blvd in Meridian,Idaho. Before
excavating the Das-co foreman asked the General Contractor if there was anything not marked or in the way
before digging and was told no. While excavating the backhoe operator struck a new 12" water main which had
not been put into service yet. Dasco supervisor upon seeing the line break, followed Idaho dig line laws and
contacted the owner of the water line and provided support to repair the line. While excavating to install the new
service line, it was discovered that when the 2" main was put in that it was not deep enough and Das-Co foreman
contacted IGC FOC for guidance, FOC instructed Das-Co to dig the main deeper and then finished install . All
procedures were followed.
