Additional Comments:
IPUC inspector Perkins met with Das-Co a contractor for IGC at 11170 & 11182 Newton St, Caldwell
Idaho. Observations included: trenching, line locating, tracer wire, fusing, stab fittings, purging,
pressure testing, gas quality testing, and bedding/backfilling. Not All procedures were followed (see
below) in accordance with IGCs Operations and Maintenance Manual, Federal Code, and Idaho Dig
Line Laws.
**** Crew member attempted to use fusing equipment that had expired calibration stickers on them
(pies in file), I stopped them before they were able to use them.
Additionally, crew member when squeezing the live gas line did not apply a soapy water solution and
wet non synthetic cloth (such as cotton or burlap material) upstream of squeeze location, or
commercially available electrostatic discharge fluid to the pipe surface on the squeeze location to
provide for dissipation of static charge to the ground as required by Procedure 309.
