Inspection Summary
Audit consisted of IPUC inspectors Brooks and Galli inspecting field installed equipment for the Pocatello,
Idaho inspection units.The PHMSA IA question set and IGC equipment listing were used as a guide
throughout the audit to ensure all areas were completed/covered.

Met with IGC company representatives in the Pocatello district office for in-brief and to begin field audit and
review OQ records for all personnel taking part in the inspection.
Regulator Stations: 48677-RS-59867, 48821-RS-59847, 48821-RS-60099, 48821-RS-59763, 48676-RS-60103,
48676-RS-60084, 48679-RS-60078,48679-RS-59788, 48679-RS-60083, 48679-RS-59741, 48679-RS-60112,
48679-RS-60116 were inspected for proper operation,regulator lock-up, relief device operation, cathodic
protection pipe-to-soil readings,pipe-to soil interface wrap protection, station warning signs and
right-of-way clearances.
10 casing-to-carrier isolation checks, 5 cathodic protection rectifiers, 8 pipeline patrols, and 15 emergency/
isolation valves were checked for proper operation, observations listed below.
HPSS: Low CP of-0.82 mV was found on 48679-HPSS-70364 at 1299 Fore Road. This was a result of a recent
lightning strike that hit a nearby rectifier. Inspectors observed the pipe re-polarizing over the two day inspection
from-0.81 mV to -0.82 mV. IGC CP Supervisor Kelly stated they will be installing an anode near the HPSS to
prevent a reoccurrence. Two HPSS's were found with small leaks by performing a bubble test,mitigated by
proper thread engagement. Both were fixed on-site.
An exit interview was performed following the district inspection with field personnel of Intermountain Gas
Company.
