IPUC inspector(s) observed Das-Co, a contractor for IGC install 3/4" service line(s).
Address: 4232 S Graycliff Way, Meridian, ID
Observations Included: Safety equipment, verification of OQ records, valid dig ticket but no visible
markings.
Discrepancies: Upon arrival the IPUC inspector observed a Das-Co crew hand digging a trench in the
immediate vicinity of live power. The crew had an unexpired dig ticket, however no visible markings or
flags were in the area. While attempting to locate the gas service stub, the crew inadvertently made
contact and damaged a communication line conduit (unknown if the communication conduit was live).
Per Idaho Statute 55-2205 (2), 55-2205 (5), 55-2207 (2), and MDU OPS 611 Section 2.1 and 2.5; all -
underground facilities shall be located and marked prior to commencing excavation.
Das-co Area Superintendent was notified and advised the crew to skip the install until new locates are
completed. IGC Compliance Manager was notified of the probable violation. M G
