IPUC inspector Galli observed Das-Co, a contractor for IGC install 3/4" service line(s).
Address: 1378 W Ultar Drive, Nampa, ID
Observations Include: Correct trench depth, safety equipment, verification of OQ records, verification
of equipment calibrations, valid dig ticket, PE butt fusions, tracer wire, EFV 1200 installation, pressure
test at 98 psi for 15 minutes, squeeze off, mechanical fitting (con-stab), bedding with sand and backfill.
Observed employee cut out a fuse that did not pass visual acceptance criteria. Quizzed employee on
applicable AOCs of squeeze off procedures.
Discrepancies: IPUC inspector observed a contractor representing IGC squeeze a V service line
without using a soapy water solution and wet non synthetic cloth(such as cotton or burlap material)
upstream of squeeze location, or commercially available electrostatic discharge fluid.
