HomeMy WebLinkAbout20050601min.docIDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION MINUTES OF DECISION MEETING JUNE 1, 2005 – 1:30 P.M. In attendance were Commissioners Paul Kjellander, Marsha Smith, and Dennis Hansen. Commissioner Kjellander called the meeting to order. The first order of business was APPROVAL OF MINUTES of the Decision Meetings on April 25th, May 3rd, May 9th, May 17th, and May 26th. Commissioner Kjellander made a motion to approve the minutes. A vote was taken on the motion and it carried unanimously. The next order of business was approval of the CONSENT AGENDA, items 2 - 4. There was no discussion and Commissioner Kjellander made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda. A vote was taken on the motion and it carried unanimously. The final order of business was MATTERS IN PROGRESS: Nancy Hylton’s May 25, 2005 Decision Memorandum re: Proposed Formal Complaint of Glenn Rice, Jr. Ms. Hylton reviewed her Decision Memo. Commissioner Smith confirmed that staff had talked with Mr. Rice and explained to him what caused the change in the billing cycle. She said she understands why Mr. Rice is upset but the company has followed its tariffs and does not frequently or lightly change its billing cycles. Ms. Hylton stated she had explained that to Mr. Rice but he was still not happy and wants to take the matter to the governor and the Legislature. Commissioner Smith stated she concurred with staff’s recommendation but asked the Consumer Section to add the issue of Idaho Power’s minimum charge to its tickler file for examination during Idaho Power’s next rate case. Commissioner Hansen concurred with Commissioner Smith. He made a motion not to accept Mr. Rice’s formal complaint. There was no further discussion. A vote was taken on the motion and it carried unanimously. There was no further business before the Commission and Commissioner Kjellander adjourned the meeting.
