Company Aircraft and Supplemental Lift Use Policy
PURPOSE
This document defines and communicates the requirements for Berkshire Hathaway Energy
(BHE) and its business units (collectively, the Company) for air travel. Due to availability of
company owned assets and limited annual hour availability for supplemental lifts (ie. NetJets and
charter services), a managed approach must be established. The purpose of the policy is to:
• Establish the preferred order of air travel options
• Maximize use of company assets to support objectives
• Manage use of supplemental airlift as to not exceed hours allocation
POLICY
Authorized executives or designees are permitted to use air and ground transportation services
necessary to achieve the business objectives, including use of the commercial flights in the
first-class cabin, corporate aircraft, supplemental lift and car services. These executives are
named within the policy and generally consist of the business unit presidents and CEOs.
The preferred order of air travel options are as follows:
1. Commercial Air Travel: The company will utilize commercial air travel to the maximum extent
possible to meet business objectives
2. Company Owned Asset: If no commercial operations are available, the authorized executive
or designee may request a company owned asset based on availability
3. Supplemental Lift: If no company owned asset is available, a supplemental lift will be a tertiary
means of travel
• NetJets:Annual allocations will be equally divided by month. Once monthly hour allocation
for the supplemental lift has been exhausted, this option will no longer be available until a
new contract period has opened at the beginning of the next month.
• Other Charter Services: If all other options have been exhausted, other charter services,
including EJM, will be a last resort means of travel and is intended to be used sparingly

PROCEDURES
Requests — Once a need for travel has been identified, priority will be given to commercial travel
options available through the CONCUR system managed within BHE. If no commercial options
are available, a request for use of company assets may be submitted through email to the flight
scheduler. Destination and number of passengers will be factors used in determining which asset
will be utilized. If a company asset is unavailable, a supplemental lift may be sourced to support
the task. This method will be based on hour availability which will be monitored by the company
flight department. A 96-hour notice will be preferred to allow a timely reservation, approvals and
to avoid any possible delays. If NeWets services are exhausted, other charter services may be
considered.
Approvals — Business unit presidents may approve use of corporate aircraft to meet business
objectives. Availability will be monitored by the flight scheduler with priority given to top echelon
executives. Remainder of availability will be on a first come first serve basis. As a final option for
travel, a supplemental lift will require BHE CEO approval. Additionally, all requests for personal
use requires BHE CEO approval.
Billing —The cost of operating options will be billed back to the respective business unit.
