NEWS RELEASE: Commission schedules virtual workshop to share information on electric
utility’s proposed rate increase.
BOISE (Sept. 18, 2024) – Idaho Public Utilities Commission staff will hold a virtual, public
workshop on Sept. 25 to share information on an application from Rocky Mountain Power to
increase its rates.
The workshop will be Wednesday, Sept. 25, and will begin at 6:00 p.m. (MDT). Commission
staff will provide an overview of Rocky Mountain Power’s application, its proposed rate increase
and the potential impact on customers. Commission staff will also be available to answer
questions regarding the application.
Rocky Mountain Power is seeking commission approval to increase rates for the average
residential customer by 17.9 percent, or about $19.90 on Jan. 1, 2025. The utility also is seeking
commission approval to increase rates by 5.3 percent, or about $6.94 on Jan. 1, 2026. The
commission can approve, deny or modify the utility’s application.
