Inspection Summary
A construction inspection was performed on Das-co, a contractor for Intermountain Gas Company.
29 June 2020: (1 Construction)
Observed DasCo crew locate other utilities, pothole to expose steel main along Victory Road,fuse 4" PE. Proper
procedures were followed.
30 June 2020: (1 Construction)
Observed DasCo crews excavate intersection of Victory Rd and Dewey Ln for the bore of the intersection and to
locate the depth of the phone line. They started to HDD the intersection until the bore machine broke down.
The crew plated the excavated sections of the roadway. Proper procedures were followed.
1 July 2020: (1 Construction)
Observed DasCo crew dig down to expose the 2" main on Dewey Ln before boring the intersection of Victory
Rd. They then back ream with an approx. 8" head pulling the 4" PE back through the bore hole. The crew also
suck vacuumed the bore mud out of the three holes. Proper procedures were followed.
13 July 2020: (1 Construction)
Observed DasCo crews complete the trenching along Victory Rd all the way to Leisure Ln. Also observed crews
fuse 4" PE pipe for preparation of installing into trench. Proper procedures were followed.
14 July 2020: (1 Construction)
Observed DasCo crews excavate along Dewey Ln and bed in preparation of pipe install. Also observed crews
fuse a 4" "T" for tie-in adding a reducer to the 2" that will run along Dewey Ln. A thumper bore was conducted
across a residents drive way. Proper procedures were followed.
15 July 2020: (1 Construction)
Observed DasCo crew attach 24" bit to 12" bore pipe and pull pipe through the bore. Observations included
lower pipe into trench, attach pipe to bore bit and pull pipe. Proper procedures were followed.
16 Jul 2020: (1 Construction)
Observed DasCo crew install a 3/4" bypass (including squeezing, use of CGI, saddle and stab fittings, pressure
test, purging), tie-in of the 2" (Met-fit coupling), tracer wire installation, padding and backfill. Proper procedures
were followed.
