Inspection Summary
Audit consisted of inspecting field installed equipment and operator qualification for the Idaho Falls, Idaho
inspection units. Records and procedures for all Idaho Intermountain Gas Units were inspected in February
2020 at the Intermountain Gas Company(IGC) headquarters in Boise, Idaho.
Ault 28, 2019: (2 Standard Prep)
Prepared for the field audit of Intermountain Gas Company's natural gas distribution pipeline for the Idaho Falls,
Idaho inspection unit. Reviewed operators operations/maintenance manuals, emergency manuals, operator
qualification procedures and the previous years audit results. Completed PHMSA IA Form and IPUC Forms and
worksheets for the inspection.
August 31-2 Sep, 2020: (5.0 Standard)
Traveled to Idaho Falls and met with IGC company representatives in the Idaho Falls district office for in-brief
and to begin field audit.
Regulator Stations
70063,70065,70066,70067,70068,70070,70071,70072,70079,70094,70095,70096,70097,70098,70099,70100,7
0101, 70104,70105,70107,70110,70143,and 70149 were inspected for proper operating parameters, regulator
lock-up, relief device operation, cathodic protection pipe-to-soil readings, pipe-to soil interface wrap protection,
station warning signs and right-of-way clearances.
Ten casing-to-carrier isolation checks,three cathodic protection rectifiers,ten pipeline patrols, and fifteen
emergency isolation valves were checked for proper operation.
An IPUC Form 3 (exit interview) was performed following the district inspection with Kelley Gorringe (Pipeline
Safety Specialist) of Intermountain Gas Company.
Observations:
Reg Station: 70096 primary failed lock-up. Meter inspector replaced diaphragm on the spot.
Reg Stations not plumbed for lock-up: 70065,70067,70068,70079,70094,70095,70100,70107 and 70110
Patrols: ACP 747001 and 747002 missing signage. Personnel installed new carsonites on the spot.

Idaho PUC Pipeline Safety Inspection Summary
Valve: 700-0225 required more than two personnel to operate.
Sep 1, 2020: (1.0 New Construction)
A KV Utilities crew was installing a new 3/4" service line in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Areas observed during this project
were: trenching, line locating, pipe handling, pipe installation, bedding/backfilling, pressure testing, EFV
installation and plastic pipe joining.
Sep 3,2020: (2.0 New Construction)
A KV Utilities Crew in St Anthony, Idaho was installing a 3/4" service line, boring another service line and using
thumper bore on 2 other service lines. Areas observed were trenching, line locating, pipe handling, pipe
installation, bedding/backfilling, pressure testing, EFV installation, plastic pipe joining, boring and thumpering.
Sep 4, 2020: (2.0 Standard)
Traveled to Murtaugh Idaho to observe RNG system being installed at a dairy to determine jurisdiction and then
returned to Boise.
