Inspection Summary
A construction inspection was performed on KV Utilities, a contractor for Intermountain Gas Company.
5 Dec 2019: (1.0 Construction)
Observed a KV Utilities crew excavating for a new service. They were using a backhoe but decided to
come back with the right equipment at a later date due to running into large rocks. They'll need to
bore it from the stub location under the road to the tie-in.
Areas observed during this project were: Excavating, Line Locating and OQ's
Observed a KV Utilities crew running service line from a stub. Crew was in the process of squeezing the stub to
attach new service line when I noticed that the squeeze tool did not have an attached grounding cable. I
stopped them from doing the squeeze and notified IGC personnel. KV Utilities leadership arrived and attached
a grounding cable. At that time I allowed the crew to complete the installation.
Areas observed during this project were: Excavating, Line locating, Bedding, Pressure testing, EFV installation,
Purging, and OQ's

Observed a KV utilities crew excavating for a new service in a joint trench. Crew was very careful in hand digging
when within 2 feet of lines.
A compressor inspection was performed on IGC and contractor personnel on the Jerome compressor.
Observed IGC and contractor personnel troubleshooting, following O&M procedures and running up the
compressor station.
