Inspection Summary
A construction inspection was performed on DAS-CO, a contractor for Intermountain Gas Company.
3 July 2019: (2.0 Construction)
Crew was installing new 3/4" service lines to 2 new homes on Nantucket St. in Caldwell. During
excavation of first home located at 3907 Nantucket St, A Das-co employee was pulling on the buried gas
pipe to expose it and in doing so he kinked the pipe in 2 locations. Another Das-co employee wrapped
the service line stub with electrical tape in the location where he was going to squeeze. He then applied
the squeezers on top of the tape and proceeded to squeeze the service. This is a violation of
Intermountain Gas procedure 4100.1
Areas observed during this project were: Line locations,trenching, installing new service line and tracer wire,
installing mechanical couplings and EFV, pressure testing, bedding/backfilling,
