Inspection Summary
Audit consisted of inspecting field installed equipment and operator qualification for the Idaho Falls, Idaho
inspection units. Records and procedures for all Idaho Intermountain Gas Units were inspected in February
2019 at the Intermountain Gas Company (IGC) headquarters in Boise, Idaho.
Aug 9,2019: (2 Standard Prep)
Prepared for the field audit of Intermountain Gas Company's natural gas distribution pipeline for the Idaho Falls,
Idaho inspection unit. Reviewed operators operations/maintenance manuals, emergency manuals, operator
qualification procedures and the previous years audit results. Prepared PHMSA Form 2 IA question set and IPUC
Forms and worksheets for the inspection.
Aug 11,2019: (2 Standard travel)
Traveled over to Idaho Falls, ID to conduct the field audit.
Aug 12-14, 2019: (6 Standard)
Met with IGC company representatives in the Idaho Falls district office for in-brief and to begin field audit.
Regulator Stations 70004, 70005, 70008, 70009, 70010, 70011, 70012, 70013, 70014, 70015, 70016, 70017,
70018, 70019, 70020, 70021, 70032, 70035, 70036, 70037, 70040, 70041, 70043, 70044, 70048, 70050, 70051,
70053, 70054, 70056, 70057, 70058, 70059, 70060, 70062, 70063, 70064 and 70145 were inspected for proper
operating parameters, regulator lock-up, relief device operation, cathodic protection pipe-to-soil readings, pipe-
to soil interface wrap protection, station warning signs and right-of-way clearances.
Eight casing-to-carrier isolation checks, five cathodic protection rectifiers, eight pipeline patrols, and eight
emergency isolation valves were checked for proper operation and found to be operating properly.
An IPUC Form 3 (exit interview) was performed following the district inspection with Kelley Gorringe (Pipeline
Safety Specialist) of Intermountain Gas Company.
Observations:
Reg Stations: 70009, 70017, 70020, 70051, 70053 and 70057 not plumbed for lock-up.
Reg Stations: 70021 (primary), 70059 (primary) failed to lock-up. Meter inspector replaced diaphragms and
cleaned needles on the spot.
Reg Stations: 70035 and 70044 were found leaking.
C2Cs 72900201, 74102701 and 74109407 had low CP readings.
HPSS 1295-733 in Shelley was found leaking

Aug 15, 2019: (2 Construction)
Observed the crew line locating old Aldyl-A,trenching with a trenching machine for%" service line, potholing in
preparation for the bore, boring the%service line, bedding, and setting riser.They excavated the 2" PE they
had installed prior to our inspection. Watched them bore under the main road to their tie-in location.
Areas observed during this project were: Trenching, Boring, Potholing, Line Locating and Bedding.
