Inspection Summary
Audit consisted of inspecting field installed equipment and operator qualification for the Twin Falls, Idaho
inspection units. Records and procedures for all Idaho Intermountain Gas Units were inspected in March 2018
at the Intermountain Gas Company(IGC) headquarters in Boise, Idaho.
July 6,2018: (1 Standard Prep)
Prepared for the field audit of Intermountain Gas Company's natural gas distribution pipeline for the Twin Falls,
Idaho inspection unit. Reviewed operators operations/maintenance manuals, emergency manuals, operator
qualification procedures and the previous years audit results. Prepared PHMSA Form 2 and IPUC Forms and
worksheets for the inspection.
July 9-10, 2018: (6 Standard)
Met with IGC company representatives in the Twin Falls district office for in-brief and to begin field audit.
Regulator Stations 50056, 50057, 50093, 50095, 50098, 50099, 50100, 50101, 50102, 50103, 50104, 50105,
50106, 50109, 50114, 50115, 50116, 50135, 50140 and 50141 were inspected for proper operating parameters,
regulator lock-up, relief device operation, cathodic protection pipe-to-soil readings, pipe-to soil interface wrap
protection, station warning signs and right-of-way clearances.
Five casing-to-carrier isolation checks,two cathodic protection rectifiers, five pipeline patrol, and five
emergency isolation valves were checked for proper operation and found to be operating properly.
An IPUC Form 3 (exit interview)was performed following the district inspection with Brack McMurtrey
(Operations Manager) and Kelley Gorringe (Pipeline Safety Specialist) Intermountain Gas Company.
Observations:
Reg Stations: 50102 and 50116 not plumbed for lock-up.
Reg Stations: 50100 primary regulator failed to lock-up.
Reg Stations: 50098 relief failed to reset,valve had to be greased.
Valve 5500538 had excess vegetation on valve cover.
Valve 5501168 needs new signage.
Patrol ACP 621-003 Hangers on both ends need readjusted.
Patrol ACP 621-002 had a couple of bare steel spots showing.
Patrol ACP 621-004 Pipe laying on concrete at both sides.

July 11, 2018: (3 Construction)
The crew was abandoning a 3/4" steel service line (#00217-517) at 260 N Main in Ketchum.
Areas observed during this project were: Other utility location, Excavation, Bell holing, Pipe/Coating
inspected/removed, Purging, Welding and Backfilling.
July 12, 2018: (3 Construction)
The crew was installing a new 2" plastic main line (#00464-525)to abandon an old Aldyl-A main, and replacing
3/4" plastic service lines(#11463-525)to existing residents.
Areas observed during this project were: Line locating, Excavation, Main line installation (tracer wire), Plastic
pipe joining, EFV Installation, Purging, Pipe/Coating inspected/removed,Welding,Tie-In, Pressure testing, and
Backfilling.
