Inspection Summary
A construction inspection was performed on Avista in the CDA/Sandpoint/Kellogg area.
August 13,2018: (2 Standard)
Traveled to CDA, ID to conduct construction inspection.
August 14, 2018: (2 Construction)
An Avista crew was replacing a main, installing a new main and emergency valve. Installing a new 6" plastic
main and emergency valve along Highway 95 and Bottle Bay Rd in Sagle.
Areas observed during this project were: pinching off, plastic pipe joining, main installation, tracer wire
installation, hot tapping, pressure testing, purging, electrofusion, bedding and backfilling.
August 15, 2018: (1.5 Construction, .5 OQ)
An Avista crew was digging up a service line to repair tracer wire and install a big fink (test point). Line was lost
due to tracer wire being cut on the corner of Kathleen and Building Center Drive in Coeur d'Alene.
Areas observed during this project were: excavation, line locating, tracer wire repair, big fink installation and
placement and backfilling.
An Avista crew was installing new service line from existing main to a new residence. Installing a new 3/4"
plastic service line to a new residence at 2260 E Honeysuckle Ave in Hayden.
Areas observed during this project were: excavation, electrofusion, hot tapping, pressure testing, purging,
service line installation (tracer wire), riser placement, bedding and backfilling.
An Operator Qualification inspection was performed on Kevin Bridge the crew forman for Coeur d'Alene District
while performing electrofusion. Kevin was fully aware of AOC's and performed the task in a satisfactory
August 16, 2018: (2 Construction)
An Avista crew was installing a new service to an existing residence. Installing a new 3/4" plastic service from
main at 1553 Nuckols Gulch in Osburn.
Areas observed during this project were: excavation, plastic pipe joining, service and riser installation,tracer
wire installation, hot tapping, pressure testing, purging, bedding and backfilling.
