BOISE(Aug. 22, 2024)—The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is accepting written comments on Avista Utilities' power cost adjustment application for the electric service it offers. The power cost adjustment is a mechanism used to track changes in revenues and costs associated with variations in hydroelectric generation, secondary prices, thermal fuel costs, and changes in power contract revenues and expenses. Avista Utilities is proposing a rate adjustment of 0.205 cents per kilowatt-hour. If the commission approves the application, approximately$6.6 million would be rebated to customers effective Oct. 1, 2024. Avista said the rebate is primarily associated with power supply costs that were Lower than those included in retail rates, due to lower wholesale electric and natural gas prices. The commission is accepting written comments on Avista's application until Sept. 11, 2024. Comments are required to be filed through the commission's website or by e-mail unless computer access is not available. To submit comments using the commission website, please visit puc.idaho.gov and click on the"Case Comment Form" link on the upper left side of the page. Please use case number AVU-E-24-07 when filling out the form. The commenter should also include their name and address.
