Response to IPUC Data Request 79 Field Ai is the title of a program comprised of multiple projects initiated to create workforce efficiencies and provide integrated asset information across systems in PAC-E-24-04/Rocky Mountain Power August 14, 2024 IPUC Data Request 79 the transmission & distribution (T&D) work and asset management space. One of the projects included in Field Ai program is `Maximo'. Maximo is a work and asset management solution. Note: When the Company refers to Maximo phase Ia, the Company also includes supporting applications that were implements to support the Maximo functionality (Powerbase, Splunk,App Dynamics). During the project lifecycle, Maximo was split out into different releases to accommodate project delivery needs. The Maximo Phase IA rollout for PacifiCorp was placed in-service July 18, 2022, enabling functionality for substation operations, including preventative maintenance scheduling and field inspection results collection. Note: The responses provided below are specific to the Maximo phase la project, which rolls up into the overall Field Ai program. The project Field Ai-Field Asset Intelligence is a system allocated project. The $20,563,043 reflects the amount in-service at the end of 2023. The Idaho allocated amount using an system overhead (SO) allocation factor of 5.3334 percent is $1,096,708. (a) The Maximo initiative is a key asset in the PacifiCorp technology roadmap. Updates are being conducted in alignment with peer Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company(BHE) affiliates to take advantage of economies of scale in security, licensing and maintenance for systems supporting similar business functions. As a part of the work and asset management assessment the Maximo solution was identified to meet the needs of PacifiCorp. PacifiCorp receives the benefits of enhanced data security, regulatory compliance and business scalability as BHE implements the new system infrastructure. Additionally, with the implementation a new work and asset management solution at PacifiCorp, Maximo will replace the existing mainframe-based Retail Construction Management System (RCMS). RCMS has become increasingly difficult to maintain and enhance, partially due to its antiquated architecture and its outdated programming language. (b) The identification of the new work and asset management system was conducted through a joint assessment with PacifiCorp and other BHE affiliates. The alternatives explored by the Company consisted of CGI, Oracle, and International Business Machine (IBM). The outcome of the evaluations showed that CGI and Oracle were unable to meet the technical evaluation criteria set-forth in the request for proposals (RFP). (c) Please refer to the Company's responses to subparts I. through IV. below: I. An RFP for the work management solution was facilitated by a BHE affiliate. Through that in-depth process IBM Maximo was the chosen PAC-E-24-04/Rocky Mountain Power August 14, 2024 IPUC Data Request 79 solution for work management at the BHE level, alongside Accenture as the chosen implementation partner. Post-RFP, Accenture spent time with PacifiCorp to confirm understanding of the PacifiCorp specific requirements and scoping for the Maximo implementation. II. Not available. III. Not available. IV.Not available. (d) Please refer to the Company's responses to subpart I. through VII. below: I. Initial Scope: Work Management capability using Maximo to document and schedule asset inspections, compliance, replacement, refurbishment, measurement, and records repository. Replace functionality currently provided by PacifiCorp's mainframe Facility Point Inspection system.* WHAT'S CHANGING: Overall The Asset and Work Management Implementation will deploy Maximo across PacifiCorp's T&D wires and substation businesses, simplifying processes across two releases. The diagrams below outlines the changes for each step in the work execution process that will occur in phase 1A and 1B.Maximo will be replacing and integrating the asset management functions that currently exist for work orders.Wires work will be performed how it is today, but the results will be stored in Maximo. Due to limitations with the proposed mobility solution that would integrate with Maximo the decision was made to modify the PacifiCorp Maximo implementation schedule to realign transmission and distribution wires corrective and preventative maintenance scheduling with a Phase 1B rollout. a. Phase 1A rollout included substation operations: preventative maintenance scheduling and field inspection results collection. b. Phase 1B rollout will include T&D wires: corrective and preventative maintenance scheduling and field inspection results collection, along with construction and the appropriate mobility *Note the initial scope and budgets included a full Maximo T&D Implementation. The actual scope and budget reflect the implementation of functionality for a portion of that scope. Recordholder: Amanda Lindsay/Drew Smith Sponsor: To Be Determined
