NEWS RELEASE: Commission sets written comment deadline regarding status of northern
Idaho water utilities.
BOISE (July 9, 2024)—The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has set a written comments
deadline in proceedings to determine if two water utilities are operating as public utilities and if
steps should be taken by the companies to comply with Idaho law.
Valiant Idaho, Inc. and TIC Utilities, LLC have been asked to provide information to
commission staff that would help staff make a recommendation regarding their status, a
requirement for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity and any other
recommendations regarding the adequacy of service and rate setting.
Valiant Idaho and TIC Utilities own and operate a water supply and distribution system that
serves customers in a development and golf club in the Bonner County, Idaho, area.
The commission is accepting written comments on the work being done until July 18, 2024.
Comments are required to be filed through the commission website or by e-mail unless computer
access is not available. To comment electronically, please visit puc.idaho.gov and click on the
