SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF AVISTA CORPORATION AND FORD HYDRO
LIMITED PARTNERSHIP'S JOINT PETITION FOR APPROVAL OF A
POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENT; CASE NO. AVU-E-24-06.
On May 16, 2024,Avista Corporation d/b/a Avista Utilities ("Company") and Ford Hydro
Limited Partnership ("Ford Hydro") (collectively, "Parties") submitted a joint petition to the
Commission for approval of a Power Purchase Agreement ("PPA") that would authorize the sale
of energy from Ford Hydro's hydroelectric facility to the Company ("Petition"). The current PPA
expires on June 30, 2024. The Parties requested that the Petition be processed by modified
procedure and the Commission issue an order approving the Petition effective July 1, 2024.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommended the Commission issue a Notice of Petition and Notice of Modified
Procedure establishing a July 11, 2024,public comment deadline and a July 18, 2024, Party reply
comment deadline.
