I am writing in regards to VP Inc's request to increase rates on their water services. I am a
homeowner in the Hidden Lakes Community concerned about the safety and reliability of the
drinking water. Last year a water sample was requested and collected from my home by a VP
representative for analyses. The results were the water was contaminated with lead, a toxic metal.
The recommendation from VP was to flush my lines every morning before usage. I find this
disturbing. The source of contamination is not being pursued. Also, there is no back-up generator for
the well. If power is out for any significant period of time it is my understanding there is insufficient
amount of water in the reservoir(s)to meet the ever growing demands of water to the community
after 2 days or more. I would like to have these concerns addressed regardless of rate increase.
