ORDER NO. 36073

On November 6, 2023, Frontier Communications Northwest LLC dba Ziply Fiber
(“Company”) notified the Idaho Public Utilities Commission (“Commission”) that it had changed
its name with the Idaho Secretary of State, to Ziply Fiber Northwest LLC dba Ziply Fiber. The
Company requested that the Commission update the Company name in all Commission records.
Specifically, the Company requested that its Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity
(“CPCN”) be updated, as well as the Company’s Eligible Telecommunications Carrier (“ETC”)
status, to reflect the Company’s new name.1
Commission Staff (“Staff”) verified that the Company received the Certificate of
Amendment of Foreign Registration from the Idaho Secretary of State. Staff reviewed the
Company’s filing and supporting documentation and recommended that the Commission issue an
amended CPCN No. 383 to reflect the Company’s desired name of Ziply Fiber Northwest LLC
dba Ziply Fiber. Staff also recommended that the Commission update the Company’s ETC
designation status to reflect the Company’s requested name.
COMMISSION DECISION
The Commission has jurisdiction over CPCNs. Idaho Code § 61-526; IDAPA
31.01.01.114; Order No. 26665 The Commission also has jurisdiction over ETC designation
within the state of Idaho. 47 U.S. Code § 214(e)(l)(2) see also Idaho Code §§ 62-610D(1), 62-
615(1); Order No. 29841. Based on our review of the Company’s filing and Staff’s
recommendation, the Commission finds it appropriate to amend CPCN No. 383 and the

Company’s ETC designation status to reflect that the Company has changed its name to Ziply
Fiber Northwest LLC dba Ziply Fiber.
O R D E R
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that CPCN No. 383 shall be amended to reflect the holder’s
name: Ziply Fiber Northwest LLC dba Ziply Fiber. An amended CPCN shall be issued to reflect
the new name. The Company’s ETC designation status will also be updated to reflect the
Company’s new name.
THIS IS A FINAL ORDER. Any person interested in this Order may petition for
reconsideration within twenty-one (21) days of the service date of this Order about any matter
decided in this Order. Within seven (7) days after any person has petitioned for reconsideration,
any other person may cross-petition for reconsideration. Idaho Code § 61-626.
