SUPPLEMENT AL REPORT OF
VERIZON NORTHWEST INC.
Pursuant to the Order No. 30408, Notice of Investigation ("Notice ), issued by the Idaho
Public Utilities Commission ("Commission ) on August 13, 2007, Verizon Northwest Inc.
Verizon ) provides the following report supplementing the response originally submitted on
September 10, 2007. In the transmittal letter to that original response, Verizon sought an
extension of time to submit the information requested in the Notice on Verizon s long-term plans
for addressing the capacity of the facilities in the Orofino area.
5) Address the Company s long-term plans for addressing the capacity of the
microwave system serving the Orofino area.
Verizon s long-term plan is to add to the capacity of the facilities in the Orofino area to
accommodate the demand for high-capacity circuits. Detailed engineering and planning for this
project will begin in early 2008 with construction expected to start in the second quarter. The
completion date of the construction is not known at this time but will be available after the
detailed engineering work is finalized in early 2008.
