Virgin Mobile USA, L.P. d/b/a Assurance Wireless (the “Company”) is an Eligible
Communications Carrier (“ETC”) that provides Lifeline service in Idaho under Commission Order
No. 32645. On March 11, 2020, the Company notified the Commission it had changed its name
to Assurance Wireless USA, L.P. and that the Idaho Secretary of State approved the name change
on March 5, 2020. The Company has now applied to the Commission for an order changing the
Company’s ETC designation to reflect the new name.
APPLICATION
In its Application, the Company noted its name change did not involve changes in
ownership or operations, a merger or any other structural change. Application at 1. The Company
avers its name change will not change the rates, terms or conditions of the its Idaho Lifeline
service. Id.
COMMISSION DECISION
Based on our review of the Application, we find it reasonable to approve the
Company’s Application to change its name to Assurance Wireless USA, L.P.
ORDER
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Company’s Application is approved. The
Commission recognizes the Company has changed its name to Assurance Wireless USA, L.P., and
the Company shall provide any ETC service in Idaho under the new name.
THIS IS A FINAL ORDER. Any person interested in this Order may petition for
reconsideration within twenty-one (21) days of the service date of this Order with regard to any
matter decided in this Order. Within seven (7) days after any person has petitioned for
reconsideration, any other person may cross-petition for reconsideration. See §§ 61-626 and 62-
619.
