RE: APPROVAL OF AN INTERCONNECTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN U S WEST AND essential.com, CASE NO. USW-T-00-4
On March 9, 2000, U S WEST Communications, Inc. and essential.com filed a joint Application for approval of an interconnection agreement. The Commission issued a Notice of Joint Application and Notice of Modified Procedure on March 27, 2000 to process the joint Application.
The interconnection agreement is a resale agreement and was freely negotiated by the parties. The agreement enables essential.com to purchase and resell U S WEST services, including its unbundled network elements and telecommunications retail services. During the comment period, only the Commission Staff filed comments, recommending approval of the interconnection agreement.
Staff recommends the Commission approve the interconnection agreement between U S WEST and essential.com.
