SUBJECT:COMPLIANCE FILING ON LOCAL EXCHANGE TARIFFS FOR PURCHASED EXCHANGES IN U S WEST SALE CASE; USW-S-94-4.
DISCUSSION:
On October 18, 1996, GVNW filed local exchange tariffs on behalf of the companies that purchased exchanges from U S WEST in Case No. USW-S-94-4 et. al.  The following companies and the parent companies are included in this filing:

Staff has reviewed the tariffs and agrees that the filed rates and conditions comply with what was agreed to in the sale case.
Specifically, the rates filed for basic exchange service are those in effect at the time the agreement was signed.  Other rates such as custom calling features and other vertical services are the rates in effect for the purchasing companies.
As agreed to by the purchasers, the basic rates will not change for three years from the date of the sale (October 18, 1996).  
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the filings be approved.

Does the Commission wish to approve the tariff filings?
