Tamarack wants to provide phone service in Valley, Adams counties
Boise - Tamarack Video & Telecom LLC has filed an application with the Idaho Public Utilities
Commission for a certificate to provide local and long distance telephone services throughout
Valley and Adams counties. The start-up telecommunications company was created primarily to
serve residential and business customers at the Tamarack Resort in Valley County.
Tamarack would compete primarily with the incumbent local exchange carrier, Frontier.
Initially, Tamarack plans to offer local exchange service as well as Voice cver Internet Protocol
(VOIP) and other services. It will also offer interexchange telecommuncations services for
resale.
The commission will proceed under a modified procedure that allows the case to be handled
through written public comments rather than by public hearing. However, commentors may
request a public hearing. Those wishing to submit comments must do so by no later than June 2.
