On February 18, 2021, the Commission received correspondence stating that Sprint
Communications Company, L.P. (“Sprint” or “Company”) no longer offers basic local exchange
or interexchange services to customers in Idaho and wishes to voluntarily withdraw its Certificate
of Public Convenience and Necessity (“CPCN”).
CPCN No. 327 was issued to Sprint on April 22, 1988 authorizing the Company to
provide basic local exchange and interexchange services throughout the State of Idaho.
Commission Staff reviewed the Company’s request to cancel its CPCN. Staff
recommended the Commission grant the request, withdraw CPCN No. 327 without prejudice, and
cancel any price lists on file with the Commission. Decision Memorandum of Daniel Klein dated
March 25, 2021.
The Commission finds that Idaho customers would not be harmed by withdrawing
CPCN No. 327 from Sprint and cancelling associated price lists, and therefore approves the same.
O R D E R
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that CPCN No. 327 is hereby withdrawn without prejudice
and any associated price lists are cancelled.
THIS IS A FINAL ORDER. Any person interested in this order (or in issues finally
decided by this order) may petition for reconsideration within twenty-one (21) days of the service
date of this order regarding any matter decided in this order. Within seven (7) days after any person
has petitioned for reconsideration, any other person may cross-petition for reconsideration. See
