Dear Ms. Noriyuki,
Sprint Communications Company L.P. ("Sprint Communications") respectfully
requests that the Idaho Public Utilities Commission ("Commission") cancel Sprint
Communications' certificates to provide basic local exchange service as a competitive carrier
and interexchange services in Idaho.
Sprint Communications filed its registration for interexchange services with the
Commission on April 22, 1988. The Commission later granted Sprint Communications a
certificate to provide basic local exchange service in Case No. SPR-T-97-2.
Sprint Communications has obtained the required FCC 47 CFR 63.71 approvals to
discontinue service and no longer has customers receiving any basic local service or
interexchange services requiring a certificate. Accordingly, there are no customers to be
notified regarding this request, and cancellation of Sprint Communications' certificate will
have no adverse consequences for consumers in Idaho. Sprint Communications is also
withdrawing its competitive access tariff, Idaho P.U.C. Price List No. 5.
