MODIFIED PROCEDURE
Cambridge Telephone Company ("Cambridge ), by and through its attorneys Givens
Pursley LLP, files the following Comments in response to the Commission s Notice of Modified
Procedure in the above entitled matter.
Qwest Corporation s petition in this case proposes to consolidate its Boise and Meridian
rate centers. If the petition is granted, Qwest proposes including the Meridian calling center
which includes the exchanges of Kuna, Meridian, Middleton, and Star, in the Boise rates center
existing extended area service ("EAS") with Cambridge s Lowman exchange.
By these Comments, Cambridge advises the Commission that it is willing to extend two
way EAS from its Lowman exchange to the Meridian rate center. Cambridge does not seek
reimbursement for its immediate costs of implementing EAS, but does request reimbursement

from the state Universal Service Fund for the annual cost of its lost access revenues. Cambridge
calculates this annual cost to be $1,404, as calculated in attached Exhibit A.
