RE: QWEST NOTICE OF IMPLEMENT A TION OF RATE CENTER
CONSOLIDATION IN DOCKET NO. QWE- T -05-
Dear Jean:
As provided in Order No. 29799 , entered June 14 2005, Qwest will commence
consolidation of the Boise and Meridian rate centers and the extension of EAS from the
former Meridian rate center exchanges to Lowman, Idaho, on November 1 2005. Prior to
that date, Qwest will file changes to its southern Idaho Exchange and Network Services
Catalog identifying the new EAS routes. Customer notice of the EAS change will be
accomplished via newspaper ads prior to November 1. The cutover will occur during the
late evening maintenance period. The consolidation and EAS expansion will be effective
November 2 2005. The combined Boise/Meridian rate centers will be called "the Boise
rate center" after that date.
Because of the lengthy implementation period described above, Qwest is presently moving
forward with issuing the orders necessary to accommodate the needs of a large business
customer to port large blocks of numbers within the newly consolidated rate center. This
meets that customer s need to achieve system redundancy for its business center. Should
other customers find themselves with similar needs before the consolidation is formally
completed, Qwest will endeavor to accommodate those requests in a similar fashion.
