An article in this morning I s Statesman on the front page of theLocal section raised my ire a bi t more. It states that consumers need to file claims byFeb. 3rd against Qwest "as part of a settlement between the state and the company overUNAUTHORIZED CHARGES AND DECEPTIVE SALES PRACTICES." This is a company that states itneeds deregulation in order to compete wi th wireless providers?! Actually what Qwest isasking for is a blank check to further defraud it I s "customers . This is also the samecompany that had to re-state it I S earnings. They seem to have a proven track record ofmisinformation. This would seem to be the LAST company that could be counted on to act inanybody I s interests but it I S own and they are a shining example why regulation is needed in the first place!
