I should like to record my objection to the request from Qwest Communications to
deregulate resident and small business rates for local calls. In fact, I object to any
deregulation of rates charged by the utilities companies that provide service in
Idaho and come under review by the Public Utilities Commission. If the
Commission does its job properly it provides a great deal of comfort in telling us
citizens that someone is looking over charges that we otherwise have no control of.
