Potlatch,Troy telephone companies propose merger
BOISE -Jan.2 is the deadline for those wishing to comment on a proposed merger of PotlatchTelephoneCompanyandTroyTelephoneCompany.
The companies are asking the Idaho Public Utilities Commission to approve the proposed merger,which,the companies say,does not change rates and will not impact day-to-day operations.
The companies provide general telephoneservice in the cities and rural areas surrounding Kendrick,Juliaetta and Troy.
The applicants do not intend to seek an increase in customer rates.Potlatch Telephone is requestingauthoritytocontinueapplyingTroyTelephoneratesandtariffprovisionstotheTroyTelephoneexchangeareasindefinitely.
The commission will proceed under a modified procedure that doesn't include a public hearing,butwrittencommentsmayrequestahearing.
