RE: CASE NO. GTE-T-97-10; JOINT APPLICATION OF NEXTEL COMMUNICATIONS AND GTE NORTHWEST FOR APPROVAL OF WIRELESS INTERCONNECTION AGREEMENT

On August 18, 1997, Nextel Communications and GTE Northwest Incorporated filed a Joint Application for approval of a wireless interconnection agreement pursuant to 47 U.S.C  252(e). The agreement was reached through voluntary negotiations, and the Petition represents that it is essentially the same as the agreement between GTE and Sprint Spectrum, which has been approved by the Commission.
Staff recommends that the Joint Application be processed by Modified Procedure.
