YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that on June 8, 2000, GTE Northwest Incorporated filed a Petition for approval of revised depreciation rates. GTE represents in its Application that it submitted a depreciation study for Commission Staff review in December 1999. Thereafter, Staff and GTE met with Federal Communications Commission representatives to discuss its depreciation study. Included in its Application are charts, designated Statement A and Statement B, showing GTE’s proposed changes in depreciation rates, amortization, and changes in annual depreciation expense. Statement A, showing the current and proposed depreciation rates for GTE, is attached to this Notice. GTE asks the Commission to authorize the adoption of the depreciation rates contained in Statements A and B for intrastate accounting interests, effective January 1, 2000.
GTE requests that the Commission process its Application by Modified Procedure. Staff concurs that GTE’s Application may be processed by Modified Procedure, and thus recommends that the Commission issue a Notice of Modified Procedure to process the Application.
