),
Verizon Northwest Inc. ("Verizon ) hereby files
this Motion for Extension of Time in which to Intervene Motion and in support of its
Motion states as follows:
V erizon is a telecommunications carrier authorized to provide various
telecommunications services in Idaho.
The Commission has opened this proceeding to "apply specific criteria
established by the FCC to determine whether economic and operational impairment exist
regarding (i) switching for mass market customers, (ii) access to DS-, DS-3 and dark
fiber, and (iii) enhanced extended loops (EELs).Notice at 2.
As an ILEC in the state, Verizon has a direct and substantial interest in the
Commission s consideration of whether
, "
based on the criteria established by the FCC in
Verizon s Petition to Intervene
its Triennial Review Order
" "
economic and operational impairment exists in particular
markets in Idaho.Notice at 2.
However, the FCC has not yet released its Triennial Review Order, and
without knowing what are the specific impairment criteria established by the FCC, it is
difficult for interested parties to determine whether they wish to participate in the
proceeding.
For this reason, Verizon respectfully requests that the due date for
petitions to intervene in this proceeding be extended until 10 days after the FCC has
released its Order.
WHEREFORE, Verizon respectfully requests that its Motion for extension of
time be granted.
