Dear Ms. Jewell:
Pursuant Idaho Public Utilities Commission Order No. 29125, issued on October 4,2002,
Sprint Communications Company L.P. ("Sprint"), hereby requests designation as a party in the
above-referenced matter.
As a telecommunications carrier operating in Idaho, the Commission's decision regarding
the legality of "virtual" NXX may impact Sprint's business plans, and Sprint therefore has a
direct and substantial interest in the outcome of this docket. Sprint's participation in this matter
will not unduly broaden the issues; and Sprint submits that its participation as a party in this
matter will benefit the public generally.
