SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF THE 2017 REVIEW OF IDAHO UNIVERSAL
SERVICE FUND, CASE NO. GNR-T-17-05
In Order No.33951, the Commission opened a generic docket in order to allow
interested stakeholders to provide insight and commentary on the continued viability of the Idaho
Universal Services Fund (IUSF). See Order Nos. 33851 and 33951. The Commission ordered a
schedule to be adopted, including two public workshops and a deadline for interested
stakeholders to submit position papers. See Order No. 33951 at2. The first public workshop
occurred on Wednesday, January 17 ,2018, and interested stakeholders submitted position papers
on or before January 31,2018. See id.
Staff is now in the process of compiling a summary and report of the various
positions- alongside its own analysis-for the Commission. As a result, Staff now believes that
the second public workshop, currently schedule for February 28,2018, is unnecessary. In the
alternative, Staff proposes to cancel the February,28,20l8, workshop, file its summary and
report to the Commission on April 4,2018, alongside a recommendation to set a stakeholder
reply deadline of 2l days., Staff contacted all stakeholders who filed position papers and
attended the first workshop, proposing the above outlined procedure, and no objection was
received.

4,2018, deadline for Staff s surnmary of positions and report to the Commission, and set a reply
deadline of 2l days? Set a different schedule or reply deadline? Anything else?
