The first I knew of the change was when it had been voted on. No billing insert was
received, no notices in the local paper were made.
So no comments from the people who only have a land line and no other options are available.
This is a public safety issue in this area.
During the last storm the only way to get emergency services was by land line. As a minimum
the phone company should restore service within 24 hours or provide a alternative to those
effected. Monies are collected for 911 service but it does no good if your phone does not
work.
