I am writing this letter to request certification of the broadband wireless equipment that
Salmon Internet has installed to provide broadband internet services to the local
. community, Following are the list of questions requested by you. the Conunission, and answers to
each,
1. Name and address of applicant including the contact person in the
event there are questions regarding the application and its
content. Indicate whether the applicant is a telecommunications
carrier, a commercial mobile service carrier, a cable or open
video operator, a satellite carrier, or other type of wireless
carrier.Answer: Salmon Internet, 20 Hwy 28 Unit B, Salmon, Idaho 83467

Salmon Internet provides local dial up internet access and
broadband Wireless internet access to Salmon, Idaho and
surrounding areas (basically Lemhi County).
2. Identify the area or location where the equipment is installed in
Idaho.
Answer: The equipment is installed in Salmon, Idaho in three
separate locations. There are three Access Units installed at 20 Hwy
28 Unit B, Salmon, Idaho 83467 for serving customers in the Salmon
area and to send/receive transmissions from two repeater stations.
One repeater station is located at 206 14th St. for the sendlreceive of
transmissions from customers and then backhauled to Salmon
Internet's main location at 20 Hwy 28. The other repeater is located on
top of Discovery Hill, also for the send/receive of transmissions from
customers and then backhauled to Salmon Internet's main location at
20 Hwy 28.
3. Describe the type of broadband service(s) offered to the public in
Idaho.Answer: Salmon Internet provides Broadband Wireless Internet
Services to both residences and businesses of the Salmon, Idaho area.

Page 4. State the network transmission rate in bits per second at which
subscribers to the relevant broadband network can receive and
send (download and upload).
Answer: Customers of Salmon Internet Broadband Wireless
Solutions have the capability of sending and receiving
(upload/download) at a rate of 100 000 000 bits per second (lMbps)
with the minimum account offered being at the rate of 256 000 bits
per second (256kbps) for both upload and downloads.
5. Provide a specific list of the equipment or types of equipment that
the applicant is requesting that the Commission determine is
qualified broadband equipment" as defined in Idaho Code ~ 63-
30291(3)(b). List the brand, manufacturer, model numbers, or
other distinguishing features of the installed equipment.
Answer: 5 (five) each of Alvarion BreezeAccess AP Units, Part
Number 82470, Description AU-NI-HP-2.4 Access Unit
2 (two) each of Alvarion BreezeAccess Bridge Units, Part
Number 824055, description SU-BD-2.4 Full LAN Bridge
2 (two) each of Mobile Mark 12dbi omni antennas, Part
Number ANT-OD 12, description 12dbi omni.
(four) each of 24dbi directional antenna , Part Number
26T-2400f, description Uni24 antenna.
1 (one) each of Tiltek 15dbi 180 degree directional
antenna, Part Number TA-2304-180 , description, TILTEK 180
Antenna.
7 (seven) each of Lightning arrestors, Part Number AL-
description, Lightning arrestor.
6. Provide the date(s) or time period(s) when the broadband
equipment was installed in Idaho.
Answer: Main office (20 Hwy 28) Access Point and 1 st repeater point
(206 14th St.) were installed in October 2001. Subsequent Access
Points and repeaters were installed throughout the year of 2002.
(January 2002 and June 2002).
7. Provide a written description (including basic schematics or
general drawings) of the relevant broadband network including a
description of how the installed equipment is "an integral part" of
a broadband network.Answer: Salmon Internet's wireless broadband network is
comprised of 1 Base Station (the main office) and two repeater
stations. The base station allows for broadband connectivity of
subscribers and the repeater stations to the T-s out to the internet.
The repeaters allow for our broadband network to reach subscribers
further out that can not be serviced directly from the base station.
Salmon Internet's wireless broadband equipment is an integral part of
the broadband network, because without it, we could not offer any
form of broadband, high speed internet connectivity to the community
of Salmon, Idaho.
Quantify the percentage and number of potential Idaho
subscribers that could be served with the broadband equipment

and the percentage and number of non-Idaho subscribers that will
be/could be served by the broadband network.Answer: Salmon Internet's Broadband wireless has the capability of
servicing around 4000 residents (50% of the county's population) in
the Lemhi County/Salmon area. As our broadband network grows
that number will grow.
9. Enclose a statement certifying that the applicant has read theapplicable statutes for broadband investment income tax credit
and the applicant believes that the subject broadband equipment
qualifies for the tax credit under Idaho Code ~ 63-30291.
, Jenny Hanson, have read the applicable statutes pertaining to thebroadband investment income tax credit and I believe that thebroadband my company has invested in to provide broadband
services to the rural community of Salmon, ID and it's surrounding
areas qualifies for the tax credit under Idaho Code 63-3029.
