Box 83720 Boise, ID 83702-0074 Attn: Joe Cusick Re:Case No. GNR-O4- Dear Joe: This letter represents a status report to the Commission of Silver Star Communications ' and Teton Telecom s (the "Companies ) compliance with the requirements of Order No. 29452 , issued March 26 , 2004 ("Order ) in the above case. Background: On February 5 , 2004, Silver Star Telephone Company, Inc. dba Silver Star Communications and Columbine Telephone Company, Inc. dba Teton Telecom , through its membership in the Idaho Telephone Association ("ITA") and by its counsel , Givens Pursley LLP, filed an application requesting a suspension of the FCC LNP requirement pursuant to the provisions of 47 D.C. ~251(f)(2). On February 20, 2004, the Commission issued a Notice of Petition and Notice of Modified Procedure establishing a written comment period. No written actual objection was filed with the Commission , and on March 26 , 2004 the Commission issued the above Order granting the ITA member companies a six-month suspension from the requirement to implement local number portability, effectively six months from May 24 2004 or November 24 2004. In August 2004 , the Companies notified the Commission that it would not be feasible to pursue LNP capability through Syringa Networks , and that the Companies would pursue implementing their own solution. Status: The hardware necessary to provide LNP capability has been installed by the Companies and is in the final testing stages. Training on the use and maintenance has been conducted for employees responsible for direct contact with the equipment and software. The company has created LNP and SOA procedures manuals. A technical issue has arisen however, relating to SS- 7 point codes which will delay LNP capability by approximately 30 days.
